After a kiss sequence in your previous film Guru, you seem to have become comfortable with such scenes?
I have no problems to do such scenes as long as they look aesthetic. I do want to try different looks but at the same time I don’t want to cross the limit. Vidya Balan: laughing away the link-up rumours I am not like other actresses who expose on the pretext of demand of the script or the challenges of the character. One can manage to look decent even while portraying a modern character. This is what I have done till today.
But aren’t you justifying your kiss sequence in the same way as other actresses justify their exposures?
I am justifying it because I know there was nothing wrong with that kiss. It didn’t create any fuss because it was not shot in a manner to arouse sexual desire of the viewers. I can't cross my boundary.
Are you game for more kissing scenes in future if the script demands? Why not? As long as it is shot in an aesthetic manner, I don’t have a problem in kissing any actor. A lot depends on your director also. You have to trust him first.
It depends on the way your director interprets the scene that makes a difference. So I am always ready for a kiss sequence provided I have trust in my director.
I can never doubt the intentions of a director like Mani Ratnam. So there was no hesitation or second thought about the kiss because I knew the circumstances in the film, which led to that shot. Given the same circumstances, I am ready to kiss again.
Do link-up rumours perturb you?It bothered me for the first time when I read a gossip column that linked me with one of the top-notch actors of the film industry. But today I read such gossips with ease and calm. I smile and then forget about it the next moment.
